Raw Inspiration...

Benefiting the Shady Grove YMCA, sending
underprivileged kids to summer camp!

The swim is in the Shady Grove YMCA 25 meter pool, in Richmond's west end. Note that swim caps are not required. The 5-8 age group will start first at 8 am sharp, followed by the older 9-14 age-group at 9am. All lil triathletes need to be cleared of transition area by 7:45am.  We would love for the big kids to cheer or help out.  Pool kick boards are allowed in the pool, yet we recommend your child practicing as well to eliminate any swimming fears.  Training wheels are also allowed, "how 'bout 'dem apples?"

The transition area will open at 7 am; ALL bikes (older and younger kids) need to be placed in position before the transition area closes at 7:45. Post race awards party begins at 10:30 am. Once again Master Cho will be doing demonstrations @ 10am.

We need sponsors to make this event happen!  Email Laurie@richmondmultisports.com if you have ideas.  Levels range from $500 - $5000.  Huge kudos to our title sponsor Conte's Bikes up on Broad st beside Gold's plaza.  Charles Conte is back in Richmond with a huge bang, the store is stocked full of kids & adult triathlon equipment.  Charles is very supportive of the kid's triathlon and the store is ready to meet your needs leading up to race day and at packet pick-up that Friday.

Distances:
Ages 5-8 (min age 5): 50 meter Swim/1.8mi Bike(1 lap total)/.5mi Run
Ages 9-14: 100 meter Swim/4.8mi Bike (3 laps total)/1mi Run
*Distances are approximate and subject to change.
**Parents will be allowed to run along with their child on their bikes for the 5 to 8 yr. old division only. We will need lots of volunteers, but only "crew" will be permitted in the transition area.
